Drama / Theater
Upper School Drama
At Coral Springs Christian Academy, we believe our God is a creative Lord. The Bible reflects His artistic abilities in Genesis 1 and 2; the creation of earth and man. We are an exposition of the creative contribution God has placed inside each one of us. In the theatre department, students are expected to use their God-given gift and demonstrate Christ’s love inventively and creatively.
Students are given the ability to express their God-given artistry by assisting in school productions either through performance or technical crew.
The theatre curriculum includes:
- Acting/Character Development
- Theatre History
- Technical Theatre
Our department has two High School productions, one in the Fall and one in the Spring. Our school has done a series of productions such as the Christmas Spectacular, Little Women the Musical, Sound of Music, and The Music Man. The Fall Musical promotes great Christian character and dedication in each student conjoined to the performing arts production. Students spend weeks rehearsing the musical, working with the vocal director, theatre director and choreographer.
The High School also competes at District 7 and State Thespians. Students earned a critics choice in Duet Acting at Districts along with Superior and Excellent ratings in other categories. Our performance at State Thespians earned our school Superior and Excellent ratings.
The Middle School performs in their own individual production, which creates opportunities for students to be involved in theatre at a young age. Middle School Night of the Arts is dedicated to promoting Fine Arts in our sixth through eighth grade students.
