Girls Basketball – Dorothy Williams

 

Dorothy Williams – Varsity Head Coach

A native Floridian, Coach Williams attended Blanche Ely High School.  She was a member of the Girl’s Varsity Basketball Team; garnering numerous team and individual awards.  Most notably, she averaged 34 points a game her senior year and is listed as one of the Pioneering Women of Basketball; for having scored 55 points in a single game (1990) and 105 combined points in two back to back games (55,50).  Coach Williams attended Division I, Howard University (Washington, DC.) where she became one of the top scorers in the school’s history.  Her name is currently posted on the schools ” Basketball Wall of Fame”.

Coach Williams initially started her basketball coaching career at CSCA in the 2006/07 seson; leading CSCA’s 5th grade team to a runner-up finish in that season’s SACC 5th/6th Grade Championship.  In the 2007/08 season, Coach Williams led the Girl’s Middle School Basketball team to a SACC Championship.  In the 2008/09 season, she again led the Middle School team, this time to the SACC Junior Varsity (High School) Championship.  In 2011, Coach Williams joined the Girl’s High School Varsity as an Assistant Coach.  In the 2012/13 season, the team won the District Championship.

Coach Williams is very grateful to have been apart of such a great history and now looks forward to serving as CSCA Girl’s High School Varsity Coach in a manner which promotes individual skill development, excellent character, leadership, positive work ethic, and teamwork; all for God’s glory.

Coach Williams is married to Dean Williams Sr.  They have two children; Dean Williams Jr. (graduated 2017 from (USNA) United States Naval Academy as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy), and DeLise Williams (starting point guard at Florida Tech); both of whom are CSCA alumni with distinguished academic and athletic histories.
